A Bit About Me(Me)~ In Which One of the Adjectives Attacks Me

by Gwen

It is time once again, to step out from behind the book and get to know one another better.

We all have a story and a life beyond the book and thanks to Danielle from There’s A Book, we get share. She asks the questions and we get to answer.

This weeks question- What are three adjectives to describe you?

I hemmed and hawed about this one all week. If I say that I am “X” will they think that I am stuck up, crazy, boring? If I say “Y” do they know that I mean it this way and not that way?

That little back and forth went on all week and then it hit me. I was being attacked by possibly the worst adjective that I have on my little plate of a brain-OVER ANALYSING EVERYTHING.

This is me on a daily basis. Should I go to buy Diet Coke now, or should I wait until I know what we are making for dinner. (in case we need something else from the store)

But I need Diet Coke now, I go crazy without Diet Coke. I wonder if Coffee would work?

Coming up with that adjective was so emotionally draining that I had to call in for help on the other 2.

ME: Art, name three adjectives that you would use to describe me.

Art: Silence.  Pensive        Silence.

ME: It shouldn’t be that hard for you. If it is negative, I can take it.

Art: Creative? and you just made one of those faces at me, you are also animated.

So there you have it, I over-analyze everything, I am creative and my boyfriend says that I am animated.  I am choosing to define the word animated as lively, outgoing and vigorous as opposed to some sort of cartoon character. I guess you could call me expressive and it would get rid of all of the visions of the Coyote scrapping with the Road Runner in your head.

On the other hand, it is sort of cool being compared to Wile E. Coyote…..Genius

  1. LOL I have moments when I over-analyze too. The way you talked about this cracked me up.

  2. Oh, I love your process! I wish I could have found some artistic illustrations for mine, which are kind of boring….

But I know exactly what you mean…I, too, go on and on, arguing in my head about this or that. I do that same thing when I need (or want) to go to the store…you’d think I lived ten miles away from it and need to carefully plan the trips (I live about a half-mile from the store!). For me, it’s a disaster when I run out of ice cream! Like I need it….sigh.

    Here’s what I wrote:

  3. Dfinitely animated, even comes through your way with words. Over analyzing..think that’s a good trait, especially since I do that too. Plus I have to know every little detail of everything.
    Have a relaxing weekend.

  4. Funny, witty, and highly entertaining!!! Loved this post!

  5. You just have moments when you over-analyze? I am like that all of the time. I must now go an analyze why you only have moments and I do it 24/7 😉

  6. The illustrations were sort of inspired by the whole debate over the meaning of animated. Speaking of, I need some ice cream.

  7. You are certainly creative and animated sounds right, too.
Now you’ve got me wondering, do I Over Analyze Everything too? I wonder if I do… Oh help, that sounds like a yes!!

  8. You totally crack me up Gwen! I love your posts each week because you are so incredibly creative, so don’t discount yourself at all in that category. I’m also a huge over-analyzer. I often second and third and forth guess everything I do and say and write, which is probably why I will never be published. It will never be right! AHHHH!!! Such is the life. LOL! Great post, as usual!

  9. LOL! I think it’s a woman think to over analyze everything!

I like expressive over animated. I think of someone loud and who talks with their hands a ton with the animated word…

  10. How about Brave? It takes guts to ask someone else for words to describe you!

  11. I spent way too much time worrying over my adjectives too. Probably should have considered over-analyzing as one of mine 🙂

  12. Relaxing weekends are sort of hard when you tend to analyze everything;) I will try if you do

  13. No, you don’t over analyze everything….you just create spreadsheets and get others to do it too.

  14. I don’t think that I am loud, but I do talk with my hands and make tons of funny facial expressions. I can’t play poker worth a darn because of it.

You are right, I think that it is a woman thing to over think things.

  15. Me asking him words to describe me was actually a test, a really big test. Come to think of it, I am not sure that he passed; he took way too long to come up with just those two lousy words. Shouldn’t it be easier to come up with adjectives for the woman you love?

  16. Maybe we should start a blog focusing on how to stop over analyzing ourselves?? I can see it now, it would take us weeks just to put up one post!

  17. I just loved your post!!! I was smiling, b/c I was totally over-analyzing my three adjectives!!! Great job!!

  18. LOL! I laughed all the way through this. I like that you over analyze everything because you take care of all the what ifs when I come to you with crazy drama. 🙂

Oh, btw, we want a Christmas card.
