Show Your Love of Books ~ The Journal

by Gwen

My mom bought me an early birthday present a few weeks ago. A Kindle!! Wait. Don’t celebrate yet, it is still on backorder. Isn’t that just the worst? I think Dante should have added another circle of you know what for things that are backordered.

Moving on, the journal was a big hit last week, so let’s go with that. Do you journal or keep track of your books on paper?

Devilish Leather Journal

Devilish Leather Journal, by Kreativlinks, $47

12th Night Journal

12th Night Journal, by Immortal Longings, $35

Vintage Envelope Journal

Vintage Envelope Journal, by Monorail, $20

Handsewn Notebook

Hand Sewn Notebook, by Wee Bindery, $29

I do keep a little book with a list of books that I have read, just title, author, and year published. I don’t know about you, but I have had too many computers crash to trust such an important things not to have an old school list. I also journal off and on.

  1. Those journals are gorgeous!!! I especially love the first 2…mainly the first one…I may have to have it! I kind of miss keeping a list of the things I read in paper form. I have a goodreads account but that’s about it…

  2. I’ve never even thought to keep a journal of what I read. Let us know how you like the Kindle. I’ve been thinking about one but I think I’d miss the real thing.

  3. I’ve always been a pen and paper kind of girl. I love the actual physical aspect of writing. I think I’m in love with my own handwriting or something, so I like to write and admire. OMG, you’re the only person I’d say that to.

I DO keep track of my books in a notebook. I tried doing it on Google docs, but like I said, I love to use a pen. Too bad I don’t enjoy the thinking of WHAT to write aspect of writing.

  4. Yup, I have a little book where I record books read, movies watched and (like you, off and on) a few thoughts. I had to buy a new journal yesterday and was a bit shocked by how expensive they now seem to be! Did I really spend $18 last time around?!
Would love to hear how you get on with the Kindle.

  5. The first one is my favorite too. I like to think that when I journal, I am writing down all of my “hot” thoughts, so that one is perfect.

  6. I am a pen and paper girl too. I even outline all of my reviews on paper. Did you know that in some schools they are thinking of stopping teaching kids how to write in cursive? I saw it in this months Costco mag and was floored!

  7. Still waiting on the Kindle…..over a month now. There ought to be a law!

I started another spreadsheet yesterday. I think that you have created a monster with your sharing of organizing and spreadsheets. 😉

  8. Because Ive an insane case of OCD, I don’t use the journal, but I love buying them! Instead, I use Goodreads to document my reads. That first journal had me wishing I had that.

  9. I just found your blog! This is wonderful! I am honored to have been mentioned and to be among such fine artists!

  10. excellent publish, very informative. I ponder why the other specialists of
this sector don’t understand this. You must continue your writing.
I’m sure, you’ve a huge readers’ base already!
