A Bit about Me(Me) ~ I want to be Clad in Leather!

It is time once again, to step out from behind the book and get to know one another better.

We all have a story and a life beyond the book and thanks to Danielle from There’s A Book, we get share. She asks the questions and we get to answer.

Who is your favorite female character, in a book or on a TV show/movie? Why?

My favorite female character would have to be Sydney Bristow from Alias. Played by Jennifer Garner, she proved that women are just as accomplished as men and can look hot while doing it!

I mean, she had a cool wardrobe, got to go to all sorts of neat places and no one got the best of her. (sure, there were often people shooting at her, but hey, danger can be exciting. Right?) That is something that I really admire in a person, even if she happens to be fictional.

Sydney could do it all and manage to look stunning at the same time. Now any woman that can do that and save the country while dealing with the fact that her mother is a Russian Spy. When my mom defected to another political party I was a mess for days. (I am still not over it that, traitor)

Sydney doesn’t take $%$ and isn’t afraid to dole it out and I wish that I was that strong.

One other character that I really can identify with is Dana Sculley from The X Files. She rocked it too, but didn’t have the wardrobe that I could drool over.

  • Oh, those are great characters, Gwen! Yes, toughness is a theme I can relate to…and you’ll see it in my characters, here:

  • Can you believe it? I’ve never watched Alias or The X Files!

  • Yay for the sci-fi love! Gotta love girls in leather.

  • I chose three on mine, but Buffy Summers was one of them, and I think for very similar reasons to yours for Sydney. I love girls who kick ass and look fabulous at the same time!

  • LOL!!! There’s a reason I like you!!! And it’s Alias!!! I love that show and because of that show Jennifer Garner is the First Mate on my Lesbian Boat. LOL!!! I own all the seasons on DVD and have watched them several times. I love her and Buffy from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Those are a couple of kick butt TV show characters that prove that women are strong and sexy!

  • Oh my Vicki! Well, picture James Bond as a woman, with a lot less sex and goofy characters, then you have Alias:)

  • That reminds me, I need to add Buffy to my Netflix list. I still haven’t seen all of those!

  • That is it isn’t it? So many strong women characters come off as less feminine, I am attracted to those that can do both.

  • I LOVE your choice! And honestly, I’m glad you mentioned it, because it’s a series I didn’t see all of and would really like to go back and watch all the way through. So so good!

PS…Thank you so much for being patient with me! I was at that writing conference this weekend and failed to mention it in the post, that I would take a day or two to get to everyone. (It was amazing by the way!)
